Summer is just about over and fall is quite near. However, the cool thing about fall is, you can carry over some of your summer pieces into the cooler days ahead–including swimwear! Yes. Swimwear.
Not too long ago, I got my hands on a few vintage neoprene items–two swim tops and a dress. Here are the ways in which these pieces can be worn frolicking by the pool to partying at night. Layering is the key to taking these looks into fall.

Coachella 2013 starts Friday April 12th! Since 1999 this outdoor music festival held in Indio, CA has featured artists from Jay-Z to Rage Against the Machine. This year’s anticipated line-up will feature: Phoenix (one of my fave bands), 2 Chainz, Allen Stone, Dropkick Murphys, Franz Ferdinand just to name a few!
Not only is this line-up hot, so are the fashions! Every year Coachella fans head out to the festival in some of the coolest fashions around. So much so that fashion houses and brands from around the world take note. However, for vintage lovers, Coachella among other music festivals have spawned a resurgence in hippie clothing now known as the Hippie Boho Festival Style!
With an emphasis on faded and frayed denim, tassels, flowing maxi dresses and skirts, tye-dyed pieces, concert tees, and crochet these looks fall right in line with vintage offerings from the 60s, 70s and 80s! You may remember a post I wrote on Boney M. Those dresses fall right in line with what I am talking about.
If you are one of the lucky ones, you will be out there to witness the music and fashions for yourself this weekend April 12th-14th and/or the next, April 19th-21st. However, if you can’t make it, you can still look the part. Here are some of my fave Hippie Boho Festival looks!
(I sometimes take pictures from the internet. If one of these images is yours, and you would like them removed. No problem. Please let me know. Thanks.)
Spring has sprung. Therefore, I decided to head out the door Easter Sunday in a vintage maxi dress and vintage leather belt. Because I live in MA, spring temps are still chilly. So, I threw on an over-sized sweater, suede wedged booties and a pair of unseen leggings. Don’t wait until summer to wear your maxi’s. Springer-ize your maxi as I did!!!
