I may not stand in line in front of a store for a lot of things, but this…this is something different.  The Balmain collabo with H&M is a big deal.  And if you don’t know why this is a big deal, just Google Balmain.  Reminiscent of the Fall 2012 collection, this partnership will allow those of us who are not a Kardashian revel in fashion that will definitely stand the test of time.  Even though this is part of a diffusion line, these H&M pieces will be collectible.  And in 10 or more years, when your cleaning out your closets, think of me….I’d gladly take these pieces off your hands.

This collection hits online and stores, Nov. 5th.  Click HERE to view entire look book.

Do the Right Thing Rosie

Same thing happens to most of us each Halloween.  We run into that big ol’ pop up shop known as The Halloween Store to grab a costume for ourselves and family at the last minute.  This year, do a little something different and get inspired by these vintage stars and personalities to create something new!

For me, most of the time when I think of vintage clothing, I think of women’s clothing.  Not because men can’t wear vintage, but because, I’m a woman and I tend to only think of me and my ilk.  But no worries, the good peeps over at Gear & Style Cheat Sheet have kindly put together this list of ways men can rock vintage.  However, I know these ideas would work for women too!  Click HERE for more….

Fit Crepes with Apple and Turkey Sausage

After competing in my first figure competition, I made it a mission to enjoy the foods I love without all the guilt.  For the past few days, I have been craving sweet foods like cake.  Normally, I would just eat the cake.  However, I’d rather save that piece o’ cake for an occasion like my sister’s Birthday.  So inspired by a recipe I found on MyFitnessPal (a great calorie counter by the way) I went about creating what I call, Fit Crepes.  Not only did they satisfy my sweet tooth, they also satisfied all of my nutritional needs without the added calories.  This version works well for workout days too.  For those are the days you want a lil extra something in your system to use as energy to pick up those weights!  Its a simple recipe and can be modified to your specific tastes.  You can also check out the original recipe here.

Ingredients:

1 Joseph’s Flax, Oat Bran and Whole Wheat Flour Tortilla

1 Cup of Liquid Egg Whites

1 Egg

2oz Turkey Kielbasa (I used Hillshire Farms)

1/4 of an Apple (you can use more or less or none)

Cinnamon

1 Tsp Honey

Step 1:  Whisk Egg Whites, Egg, Almond Milk, Vanilla Extract, and Cinnamon

Step 2:  Dip Tortilla in the mixture

Step 3:  Saute Apple Slices and Sausage with a pinch of cinnamon.  Saute in cooking spray such as Pam.

Step 4:  Cook the remaining egg mixture to make an omelette, again, use Pam

Step 5:  Put omelette on “crepe” and top with sausage and apple

Step 6:  Roll it up!  Drizzle with honey if you please.

My version’s Nutritional Info ( you can modify the ingredients pretty easy to get more or less of the things you need or don’t need for that matter):

Costume ready?  Check.  Decorations up?  Check.  Food planned?  Check.  Now all you need for your Halloween festivities is a creepy funky playlist!  I’ve scoured the internet to bring you some of the most creepiest songs around.  I’ve also included some Halloween staples to set the mood right for your night of fright.  Yes, Thriller is here.  I’m sorry, but, Vincent Price is the best thing about this song.  Enjoy…….

P.S. I love Rabbit in Headlights.  The music is eerie but the video is a tad more frightening.

Did you know haunted houses had trending topics?  I didn’t!

Dr. Margee Kerr, a sociologist who studies trends in fear, says people are sentimental these days and are into old-fashioned 1930s and ‘40s horror.“It’s kind of a nostalgic throwback to pre-Internet ages,” Kerr said. “It’s bringing back the vintage, antique feel to haunted houses.”

To find out more on what’s trending in haunted houses this year, you can read more here!

Me personally, I am terrified of haunted houses.  I’d be the person to have a heart attack and die of fright.  If you love a great fright, you can head on over to the Haunted House Association to find where there are haunted houses in your area.

If you happen to visit one, please drop by and tell us how it was.
